Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon gave a Luncheon for Members of the Order of Merit at Windsor Castle.

The following had the honour of being invited: the Lord and Lady Foster of Thames Bank, Professor Sir Roger Penrose and Mr Maxwell Penrose, Sir Tom and Lady Stoppard, the Lord Rothschild and the Hon Hannah Rothschild, the Baroness Boothroyd and Mr Anthony Murkett, Sir David Attenborough and Miss Susan Attenborough, the Right Reverend the Lord and Lady Eames, the Lord Rees of Ludlow and Professor Dame Caroline Humphrey, Sir Timothy and Lady Berners-Lee, the Rt Hon Jean Chrétien and Princess Hadrien de Croÿ-Roeulx, Mr Neil MacGregor, the Hon John and Mrs Howard, Mr David Hockney and Mr Jean-Pierre Gonçalves de Lima, Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub and Miss Lisa Yacoub, Professor Dame Ann Dowling and Dr Thomas Hynes and the Lord Fellowes (Secretary and Registrar of the Order of Merit) and the Lady Jane Fellowes.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning departed from Royal Air Force Brize Norton for Germany and were received later upon arrival at Berlin Tegel Airport by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany (His Excellency Sir Sebastian Wood), and subsequently undertook engagements in Berlin.

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon called upon Dr Angela Merkel (Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany) at the Federal Chancellery Building.

The Prince of Wales was received later by The President of the Federal Republic of Germany at Schloss Bellevue.

The Prince of Wales, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, subsequently laid a wreath at the Berlin Airlift Monument, Platz der Luftbrücke.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited the Brandenburg Gate.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended The Queen’s Birthday Reception given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany at the Residence.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited the Berlin Forensic Outpatient Clinic.

Mr Scott Furssedonn-Wood, Mr Julian Payne, Mrs Jilly Hurley, Dr Douglas Glass, Commander Iain Kearsley RN and Mrs Belinda Kim are in attendance.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge this morning received Mr Mark Rose (Chief Executive Officer, Flora and Fauna International).

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this afternoon launched the King’s Cup Regatta at Cutty Sark, King William Walk, London SE10.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Patron, the Peter Jones Foundation, this afternoon held a prize giving ceremony for the Tycoon Enterprise Competition at Buckingham Palace.

St James’s Palace

The Earl of Wessex this evening attended Historic Royal Palaces’ King’s Presence Chamber Dinner at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Disability Initiative, this afternoon opened the new satellite service at Disability Initiative Fleet, 85 Clarence Road, Fleet, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, Special Forces Club, this afternoon attended a Ceremony at the Special Operations Executive F Section Memorial, Valençay, France, and afterwards attended a Reception given by Libre Résistance and the Mayor of Valençay, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the French Republic (His Excellency the Lord Llewellyn of Steep).

Captain Russell Bond was in attendance.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this afternoon held an Investiture in the Crypt of the Priory Church of the Order of St John, Clerkenwell, London EC1, followed by a Reception at the Museum of the Order of St John, St John’s Gate, 26 St John’s Lane, London EC1.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, the Stroke Association, this morning received Mrs Juliet Bouverie (Chief Executive) and Mr Stephen King (Chairman).

His Royal Highness, President, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, today received Mr Philip Brook (Chairman) and Mr Ian Hewitt (Vice-Chairman).
