Buckingham Palace

The Queen, Patron, this morning visited the National Institute of Agricultural Botany, Park Farm, Cambridge, to celebrate the Institute’s Centenary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Mrs Julie Spence), the Board Chairman (Mr James Godfrey) and the Mayor of Cambridge (Councillor Gerri Bird).

Her Majesty toured the Institute, escorted by Dr Tina Barsby (Chief Executive and Director), viewing various displays and meeting long-serving members of staff.

The Queen, Patroness, was entertained to Luncheon at Queens’ College, Cambridge, this afternoon by the President of the College (the Lord Eatwell) and was received by Mr Richard Barnwell (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire).

The Queen later visited Royal Papworth Hospital, Papworth Road, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge, and was received by The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the Chairman (Professor John Wallwork) and Mr Stephen Posey (Chief Executive).

Her Majesty, accompanied by Her Royal Highness and escorted by the Chairman and Chief Executive, toured the Hospital and met teams of members of staff and two former transplant patients, before opening the Hospital.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Gurkha Rifles, this afternoon attended a Medal Parade for the 1st Battalion and attended celebrations to mark the Twenty Fifth Anniversary of The Royal Gurkha Rifles, at Sir John Moore Barracks, Folkestone, Kent.

The Duchess of Cornwall, President, this afternoon gave a Reception at Clarence House for the Ebony Horse Club.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York today gave a Luncheon for the Rt Hon David Johnston (former Governor-General of Canada and Chairman, Rideau Hall Foundation).

St James’s Palace

The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Founders, The Earl and Countess of Wessex Charitable Trust, this morning held a Meeting.

The Earl of Wessex, Chancellor, University of Bath, today presided at Degree Congregations at the Theatre Royal, Bath, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Mrs Richard Maw).

His Royal Highness, Chancellor, University of Bath, this evening attended the Chancellor’s Dinner at the Assembly Rooms, Bennett Street, Bath.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal this morning opened Gairloch Museum, Ross-shire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty (Mrs Christopher Bowen).

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Two Lochs Radio, Gairloch, and was received by Mr Andrew Townsend (Deputy Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty).

The Princess Royal today laid the foundation stone for Inverewe Tower at Inverewe Garden, Poolewe, Ross-shire.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, United Kingdom Sailing Academy, this evening held a Reception at St James’s Palace.

The Duke of Kent, Patron, London Philharmonic Orchestra, this morning received Mr Timothy Walker (Chief Executive).

Princess Alexandra, President, Alexandra Rose Charity, this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace.
