COURT CIRCULAR

Balmoral Castle

Pipe Major Richard Grisdale was received by The Queen this morning when Her Majesty decorated him with the Royal Victorian Medal (Silver).

The Queen held a Council via video link at 11.30am.

There were present: the Rt Hon Jacob Rees-Mogg MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon James Cleverly MP (Minister of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Middle East and North Africa), the Baroness Evans of Bowes Park (Leader of the House of Lords and Lord Privy Seal) and the Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP (Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs).

The Rt Hon Sir Colin Birss and the Rt Hon Sir Mark Warby were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Rt Hon Stewart Hosie MP and the Rt Hon Dame Elisabeth Laing made affirmation as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP took the Oath of Office as Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office.

Mrs Ceri King was in attendance as Deputy Clerk of the Council.

Kensington Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today visited Derry-Londonderry and were received by Mrs Helen Mark (Deputy Lieutenant of County Londonderry).

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon visited Magee Campus, Ulster University, Northland Road, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Londonderry (Dr Angela Garvey).

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge afterwards visited City of Derry Rugby Club, Judges Road, and were received by Mr Richard Archibald (Deputy Lieutenant of County Londonderry).

St James’s Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this evening attended a Dinner and Prize Giving for International Golf for Youth, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Cup World Finals, Wentworth Golf Club, Wentworth Drive, Virginia Water, Surrey.

The Countess of Wessex this morning attended a Wellbeing of Women Meeting via video call.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Awareness Foundation, this afternoon held a Reception.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal this morning opened a new theatre and ward at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Bristol Road South, Birmingham, and was received by Dr Abdullah Shehu (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Catch22, this afternoon opened the new Wolverhampton Violence Reduction Team Offices at 18-19 Queen Square, Wolverhampton, and was received by Ms Rajinder Mann (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Butler Trust, later visited HM Prison and Young Offender Institution Brinsford, New Road, Featherstone, Wolverhampton, to mark its Thirtieth Anniversary, and attended a Reception to mark Hidden Heroes Day, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire (Mr Ian Dudson).

The Princess Royal, President, Royal Yachting Association, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended the Sail for Gold Dinner at Royal Thames Yacht Club, 60 Knightsbridge, London SW1.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this morning received Sir Paul Lambert (Secretary General).
