Windsor Castle
The Queen received the Bishop of Portsmouth (the Right Reverend Dr Jonathan Frost) today via video link who did homage upon his appointment.
The Rt Hon Dominic Raab MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice) administered the Oath.
The Bishop of Carlisle (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance.
Rear Admiral James Macleod was received by The Queen this afternoon upon relinquishing his appointment as Defence Services Secretary when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.
Major General Eldon Millar was received by The Queen upon assuming his appointment as Defence Services Secretary.
Her Majesty held a Council via video link at 2.30pm.
There were present: the Rt Hon Mark Spencer MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Christopher Malthouse MP (Minister of State for Crime, Policing and Probation), the Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP (Secretary of State for Transport) and the Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP (Chancellor of the Exchequer).
The Rt Hon Sir William Davis, Mr Christopher Heaton-Harris MP, the Lord Parker of Minsmere, the Rt Hon Sir Richard Snowden and the Rt Hon Dame Philippa Whipple were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
The Queen declared in Council the Rt Hon Mark Spencer MP Lord President of the Council, who took the Oath of Office and kissed hands upon his appointment.
Mrs Ceri King was in attendance as Deputy Clerk of the Council.
The Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty via telephone this evening.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the International Rescue Committee – UK, this afternoon received the Rt Hon David Miliband (President).
His Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, received Mr James Williams (Managing Director).
St James’s Palace
The Princess Royal, President, the Mission to Seafarers Limited, this afternoon visited a Merchant Ship and attended a Reception at Associated British Ports, Ocean Gate, Atlantic Way, Eastern Docks, Southampton, Hampshire.
Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Associated British Ports, Southampton.
The Princess Royal, Master, the Corporation of Trinity House, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended a Younger Brethrens’ Dinner at Trinity House, Tower Hill, London EC3.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Kent today visited the University of Surrey, Stag Hill, Guildford, to commemorate His Royal Highness’s Forty Fifth Year as Chancellor and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Surrey (Mr Michael More-Molyneux) and this afternoon launched “The Future Says Surrey” Campaign.
