The Earl and Countess of Wessex, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, today carried out the following engagements in Antigua, Leeward Islands.
Their Royal Highnesses this morning called upon the Hon Gaston Browne MP (Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda) at the office of the Prime Minister.
The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, later attended a Reception at Government House for a young person who has achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.
The Earl and Countess of Wessex subsequently attended a Reception given by the Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda and Lady Williams at Government House.
Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon attended a Luncheon given by the Governor-General and Lady Williams at Blue Waters Hotel, Atlantic Avenue.
The Earl and Countess of Wessex afterwards visited Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Saint Peter.
Their Royal Highnesses later visited the National Sailing Academy, Dockyard Drive, English Harbour.
The Earl and Countess of Wessex subsequently attended a Reception at Clarence House, English Harbour, showing heritage and cultural exhibits.
