Palace of Holyroodhouse
The Queen, accompanied by The Earl and Countess of Wessex and Forfar, arrived at Edinburgh Waverley Railway Station this morning.
Her Majesty, accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses, drove to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and was received in the Forecourt by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost) and members of the City of Edinburgh Council, when the Rt Hon the Lord Provost surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the City, which Her Majesty returned to him.
A Guard of Honour found by Balaklava Company, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, under the command of Major Robert Weir, was mounted in the Forecourt.
Afterwards The Queen was received inside the Palace by the Hereditary Keeper (the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon).
Kensington Palace
The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, this afternoon opened the Royal Army Medical Corps Garden at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3.
His Royal Highness, Patron, this evening attended a Reception to celebrate the Eightieth Anniversary of the British Mexican Society at Bush House, 30 Aldwych, London WC2.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Kent, Patron, this afternoon attended a Concert at Wigmore Hall, 36 Wigmore Street, London W1.
