Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited the XXII Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village, Edgbaston, Birmingham, and was received by Mr Simon Topman (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

His Royal Highness subsequently attended the Victoria Square Festival Live Site, Birmingham, and was received by Mr Martin Levermore (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

The Prince of Wales this evening attended a Reception to mark the Opening of the XXII Commonwealth Games, the Grand Hotel Birmingham, Colmore Row, Birmingham.

The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, and The Duchess of Cornwall, having been received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Midlands (Mr John Crabtree), later viewed the Opening Ceremony and subsequently His Royal Highness opened the XXII Commonwealth Games, Birmingham 2022, at Alexander Stadium, Walsall Road, Birmingham.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Cambridge, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting via video link.

St James’s Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Vice Patron, the Commonwealth Games Federation, and The Countess of Wessex this evening attended the Opening Ceremony of the XXII Commonwealth Games, Birmingham 2022, at Alexander Stadium, Walsall Road, Birmingham, West Midlands.

The Princess Royal this morning received the Rt Hon Ben Wallace MP (Secretary of State for Defence).

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, later opened the London International Youth Science Forum, Royal Geographical Society, 1 Kensington Gore, London SW7, and was received by Sir William Atkinson (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
