Balmoral Castle
The King this morning visited Aboyne and Mid-Deeside Community Shed, Cemetery Road, Aboyne, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire (Mr Alexander Manson) and the Chairman of the Trustees (Mr Michael Brooks).
His Majesty, escorted by Mr John Clement (Trustee), viewed craft skills in action and met local people who meet at the Shed, before touring the workshop, escorted by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant, and meeting representatives from local hardship groups and charities.
Kensington Palace
The Prince and Princess of Wales this afternoon opened Royal Liverpool University Hospital in its new premises at West Derby Street, Liverpool, and were received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside (Mr Mark Blundell).
Their Royal Highnesses later visited the Open Door Centre, 3 Abbey Close, Birkenhead.
St James’s Palace
The Princess Royal, President, Royal Yachting Association, this afternoon attended the Annual Luncheon at Trinity House, Tower Hill, London EC3.
Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK), later received Mr Kevin Richardson at St James’s Palace upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief Executive Officer and Ms Sharon Kindleysides upon assuming the appointment.
The Princess Royal afterwards received Captain Simon Kelly RN upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer of HMS Albion and Captain Marcus Hember RN upon assuming the appointment.
Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, Motor Neurone Disease Association, later attended a Reception and the “Insights: Women in Sport” Panel Discussion at the British Olympic Association, 101 New Cavendish Street, London W1, and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, the Arts Society, today held a Meeting via telephone with Dr Florian Schweizer (Chief Executive).
