Buckingham Palace
The King, Patron, and The Queen this morning reopened the Sainsbury Wing of the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London W1, and were received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa), the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (Mr John Booth) and Sir Gabriele Finaldi (Director).
Their Majesties, escorted by the Chairman and Director, toured the renovated Picture Galleries, before meeting members of the building and design team, conservators and members of staff.
The King and Queen subsequently unveiled the Coronation State Portraits in the Central Hall of the National Gallery.
The President of the Republic of Ecuador visited The King this afternoon.
The Governor-General of Canada (Her Excellency the Rt Hon Mary Simon) was received in audience by His Majesty.
The King held a Council at 4.30pm.
There were present: the Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Shabana Mahmood MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice) and the Rt Hon Wesley Streeting MP (Secretary of State for Health and Social Care).
The Rt Hon Eleanor Reeves MP was sworn in as a member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
The Baroness Chapman of Darlington made affirmation as a member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.
The Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton (Principal Private Secretary to Their Majesties) was in attendance.
The Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP had an audience of His Majesty before the Council.
Later, the Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The King.
The King this evening attended the Première of “Ocean with David Attenborough” at the Royal Festival Hall, Belvedere Road, London SE1, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London and the Chief Executive Officer of Dynamic Planet (Ms Kristin Rechberger).
The Queen this afternoon visited “the Tower Remembers” commemorative display at HM Tower of London to mark the Eightieth Anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
The Lord Katz (Lord in Waiting) was present at Royal Air Force Northolt this morning upon the Arrival of the Governor-General of Canada and welcomed Her Excellency on behalf of The King.
St James’s Palace
The Princess Royal, Royal Patron, National Coastwatch Institution, this morning visited St Ives Station, the Lookout, the Island, and, having been received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho), afterwards attended a Reception at Tregenna Castle Resort, St Ives.
Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited South Crofty Tin Mine, Pool, Cornwall.
The Princess Royal later visited Cockwells Modern and Classic Boatbuilding Limited at South West Shipyard, Ponsharden, Falmouth, Cornwall.
Kensington Palace
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester this morning visited Widex, WS Audiology, Nymollevej 6, Lynge, Denmark.
Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon arrived at Royal Air Force Northolt from Denmark.
Captain Jeremy Stephenson was in attendance.
