The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning attended a Service to commemorate the Centenary of the visit of King George V to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Cemetery at Étaples, near Boulogne, France, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the French Republic (Her Excellency Dame Menna Rawlings).

During the Service Her Royal Highness laid a wreath at the Stone of Remembrance and afterwards planted a tree for The Queen’s Green Canopy.
