COURT CIRCULAR

St James’s Palace

The Earl and Countess of Wessex, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, today carried out the following engagements in St Vincent in the Windward Islands.

The Earl of Wessex this morning visited the Diamond Track, St George.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Arnos Vale Stadium, near Kingstown.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, and The Countess of Wessex, Global Ambassador, later attended a Reception at Government House for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award and were received by the Governor-General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (Dame Susan Dougan).

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon attended a Luncheon at Government House given by the Governor-General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex afterwards visited the Botanical Garden, Old Montrose, Kingstown.

Their Royal Highnesses later called upon the Hon Montgomery Daniel, MP (Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) at the Prime Minister’s Residence in Kingstown.

The Countess of Wessex this morning visited Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this afternoon visited Innerpeffray Library, Crieff, Perthshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Perth and Kinross (Mr Stephen Leckie).

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner to commemorate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of Crieff Hydro at Ferntower Road, Crieff.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, this morning departed Gatwick Airport, London, for St Lucia.

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon called upon Mr Errol Charles (Acting Governor-General of Saint Lucia) at Government House, Morne Fortune, Castries.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex afterwards called upon the Hon Philip Pierre, MP (Prime Minister of Saint Lucia) at the Prime Minister’s Residence, Castries.

Captain Andrew Aspden, RN and Mrs Angus Galletley are in attendance.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Earlston Path Group, Carolside House, Earlston, Berwickshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Roxburgh, Ettrick and Lauderdale (the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry, KT).

His Royal Highness afterwards planted a tree for The Queen’s Green Canopy on Lauder Common, Brownsmuir Park, Lauder, Berwickshire.

The Queen has been pleased to make the following appointments in Her Majesty’s Household:

Air Commodore Malcolm Fuller to be an Extra Gentleman Usher upon his retirement as a Gentleman Usher.

Air Vice-Marshal David Hobart to be an Extra Gentleman Usher upon his retirement as a Gentleman Usher.

The appointments are with immediate effect.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this morning visited the Disasters Emergency Committee, 17-21 Wenlock Road, London N1.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting at Kensington Palace.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal, Admiral, Sea Cadets, this morning toured the Marine Society and Sea Cadets flagship, TS ROYALIST, under sail in the Solent and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, National Museum of the Royal Navy, this afternoon opened the Landing Craft Tank exhibit at the D-Day Story, Clarence Esplanade, Southsea, Hampshire.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Trimontium Trust, this afternoon visited the Trimontium Fort site, Main Street, Melrose, Berwickshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Roxburgh, Ettrick and Lauderdale (the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry, KT).

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Trimontium Trust, afterwards opened the Trimontium Museum, Market Square, Melrose.

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this evening attended a Lecture near Lauder to celebrate the Two Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the birth of Sir Walter Scott and the Seventy-Fifth Anniversary of the formation of St John Scotland.

The Duchess of Gloucester this evening attended a Dinner given by the Danish-UK Association at the Royal Horseguards Hotel, 2 Whitehall Court, London SW1, to celebrate The Queen of Denmark’s Golden Jubilee.

The Prince of Wales, representing The Queen, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, this morning attended the Maundy Service in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, at which His Royal Highness, on behalf of Her Majesty, distributed the Royal Maundy.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were received at the North Door of the Chapel by the Dean of Windsor (the Right Reverend David Conner).

The Right Reverend Dr John Inge (Lord High Almoner) and the Reverend Canon Paul Wright (Sub-Almoner) were present.

The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard and the Military Knights of Windsor were on duty.

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon joined representatives of the Chapel and the Royal Almonry at a Reception in the Deanery.

The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from Papua New Guinea.

Mr Charles Davies was in attendance.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this morning attended the Junior National Tennis Championships at the National Tennis Centre, 100 Priory Lane, Roehampton, London SW15.
