Buckingham Palace

The Queen, Patron, this morning opened the new Headquarters of the Royal Philatelic Society London at 15 Abchurch Lane, London EC4, and was received by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor (Alderman William Russell) and the President (Mr Richard Stock).

Her Majesty, escorted by the President, toured the building, visiting the Members’ Lounge and Library and viewing displays of philatelic artefacts, historical stamps, and books and periodicals, and met members of the Society, young philatelists, architects, volunteers and staff.

The Duke of Cambridge, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.
