By command of The Queen, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) received Her Excellency Ms. Amari Mandika Wijewardine at St. James’s Palace today in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as High Commissioner for the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in London.

The Prince of Wales today carried out engagements in Cumbria and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant (Mrs. Peter Hensman).

His Royal Highness this morning travelled on the Royal Train along the Settle-Carlisle Railway and alighted at Langwathby Railway Station, Culgaith Road, Langwathby, Penrith.

The Prince of Wales afterwards attended a ceremony to designate the Lake District National Park as a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization World Heritage Site, Crow Park, Lake Road, Keswick, and subsequently attended a Reception at Theatre by the Lake, Lakeside, Keswick.

His Royal Highness, Patron, The Prince’s Countryside Fund, later visited the National Centre for the Uplands, Newton Rigg College, Low Beckside Farm, Mungrisdale.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon travelled on board the Ullswater Steamer MV LADY OF THE LAKE from Glenridding to Pooley Bridge Pier.

His Royal Highness, Royal Founding Patron, Business in the Community, later visited James Cropper plc, Bridge Street, Burneside, Kendal.

The Duke of Edinburgh, former Colonel, Grenadier Guards, was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Holcroft (Chairman, the Colonel’s Fund) at the Memorial Service for Major General Bernard Gordon Lennox (former Regimental Lieutenant Colonel) which was held at the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1, this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Field Marshal the Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank.

The Duke of York was represented by Major General Charles Walker.

The Prince of Wales this morning visited HM Prison Dartmoor, Princetown, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr. David Fursdon).

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended an Upland Wader Summit at the Two Bridges Hotel, Yelverton.

Prince Henry of Wales this morning visited participants of Co-operation Ireland at the Eikon Exhibition Centre, Balmoral Park, Sprucefield, Halftown Road, Lisburn, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Down (Mr. David Lindsay).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Crown Liquor Saloon, 46 Great Victoria Street, Belfast, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast (Mrs. Fionnuala Jay-O’Boyle).

Prince Henry of Wales later visited Catalyst Inc., the Innovation Centre, Queen’s Road, Belfast.

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of York, Colonel, Grenadier Guards, was received this morning in the Grand Reception Room at Windsor Castle by the Regimental Lieutenant Colonel, Grenadier Guards (Major General Roland Walker), Major Grant Baker (Regimental Adjutant) and the President, Grenadier Guards Association (Colonel Richard Aubrey-Fletcher) to mark the appointment of The Duke of York as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received in St George’s Hall with a Royal Salute and The Duke of York inspected the Parade.

The Queen and The Duke of York afterwards attended a Reception in the Grand Reception Room.

The Queen received the Bishop of London (the Right Reverend Sarah Mullally) this afternoon who did homage upon her appointment.

The Bishop of Carlisle (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance and administered the Oath.
