Balmoral Castle

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, today visited The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers and Greys) at Leuchers and was received this morning at the Station by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Fife (Mr Robert Balfour), the Regimental Colonel (Brigadier Simon Allen) and Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Cattermole (Commanding Officer).

Her Majesty was received with a Royal Salute before entering A and B Squadron Hangar to meet groups of soldiers and view displays.

The Queen afterwards met members of the Regiment and their families in the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess.

Her Majesty was entertained to Luncheon in the Officers’ Mess this afternoon by the Regimental Colonel.

The Queen later named Leuchars Station, Waterloo Lines.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, this morning opened The Prince Philip Building and Surgeons Hall Museum, Nicolson Street, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Donald Wilson, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

Prince Henry of Wales this morning took the salute and presented awards in the Senior Inter-House Drill Competition Parade at The Duke of York’s Royal Military School, Dover, Kent.

The Princess Royal, President, Caribbean-Canada Emerging Leaders’ Dialogue (part of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences), this morning attended a Meeting with the Bahamas Study Group delegates at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel, Nassau, Bahamas.

Her Royal Highness afterwards attended The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Bahamas Awards Ceremony and presented Gold Awards at Government House, Nassau.

The Princess Royal, President, Caribbean-Canada Emerging Leaders’ Dialogue (part of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences), subsequently visited Graycliff Hotel and Restaurant, 8-12 West Hill Street, Nassau.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon departed Lynden Pindling International Airport, Nassau, for Barbados and was received later upon arrival at Grantley Adams International Airport, Bridgetown, by Mr. Philip St Hill (Chief of Protocol for the Government of Barbados).

The Princess Royal, President, Caribbean-Canada Emerging Leaders’ Dialogue (part of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences), this evening attended a Dinner given by the British High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean (Her Excellency Mrs Victoria Dean) at the Residence in Bridgetown.

Her Royal Highness this evening called upon the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas (Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling) at Government House, Nassau.

The Princess Royal, President, Caribbean-Canada Emerging Leaders’ Dialogue (part of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences), afterwards attended a Reception at Government House.

Her Royal Highness subsequently attended a Dinner at the Breezes Resort and Spa, West Bay Street, Nassau.
