The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, Welsh Guards, with The Duke of Edinburgh and accompanied by The Prince of Wales, Colonel of the Regiment, with The Duchess of Cornwall, this afternoon presented new Colours to 1st Battalion Welsh Guards in the Quadrangle at Windsor Castle.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received with a Royal Salute and The Queen inspected the Battalion before presenting New Colours to 1st Battalion Welsh Guards.

After the presentation The Queen was graciously pleased to address the Regiment and the Regimental Lieutenant Colonel replied.

The Welsh Guards subsequently marched past Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, with The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, afterwards attended a Regimental Garden Party at Windsor Castle.
