The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning attended a Service in Chelmsford Cathedral to mark its Centenary and were received at the West Door by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (the Lord Petre), the Bishop of Chelmsford (the Right Reverend Stephen Cottrell), the Dean (the Very Reverend Nicholas Henshall) and the Mayor of Chelmsford (Councillor Trevor Miller).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Felsted School, Felsted, Essex, to mark its Four Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary and to commemorate the rebuilding of Follyfield House, and were received by the Chairman of Governors (Mr John Davies) and the Headmaster (Dr Michael Walker).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained to Luncheon in Lord Riche Hall.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards listened to choral performances by the School Choir.

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, and President, The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community, this morning held a Meeting.

His Royal Highness, Duke of Cornwall later held a Meeting with representatives from the Crown Estate, Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall and Church Commissioners.

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall afterwards held a Duchy of Cornwall Land Stewards Meeting.

His Royal Highness, Patron, National Trust for Scotland, this evening held a Reception at Clarence House.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this morning opened Our House Community Centre, Charles House Annexe, Toutley Road, Wokingham, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (the Hon Mrs Bayliss).

Their Royal Highnesses, Founders, Wessex Youth Trust, later opened Ufton Court Educational Trust, Green Lane, Ufton Nervet, and were received by Mr James Puxley (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire).

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this afternoon visited the Meteorology Department at the University of Reading, Whiteknights Road, Reading, Berkshire.

The Earl of Wessex later opened the new building at Cawood Scientific Limited, Coopers Bridge, Braziers Lane, Bracknell, and was received by Mrs Jacqueline Ryder (Deputy Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire).

The Princess Royal this morning attended a Dedication Ceremony of the Jubilee Fountain at the Clovelly Estate Company Limited, Clovelly, Bideford, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Sir Eric Dancer).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners’ Royal Benevolent Society, this afternoon visited Clovelly Harbour to mark the Charity’s One Hundred and Seventy Fifth Anniversary.

The Princess Royal later visited Wings South West, Lendon Barn, Abbotsham, Bideford.

Her Royal Highness subsequently visited North Devon Homes Limited Estate Regeneration Project, Barnstaple, Devon.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to International Greetings UK Limited, Penallta Industrial Estate, Ystrad Mynach, Hengoed, Mid Glamorgan, and were received by the First Minister of the Welsh Government (the Rt Hon Carwyn Jones AM), the Founder and Non-Executive Director of International Greetings Plc (Mr Anders Hedlund) and the Mayor of Caerphilly (Councillor Michael Gray).

The Queen, escorted by Mr Jonathan Barrell (Manufacturing Director, International Greetings UK), and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted by Mr Lance Burn (Managing Director), toured the Print Hall and Display Showroom, viewing equipment and products and meeting members of staff.

Her Majesty officially opened the new printing press facility.

The Queen, Patron, and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited the United World College of the Atlantic, St Donat’s Castle, Llantwit Major, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Dr David Beck), the Chairman of the Governors (Mr Stephen Cox), the Principal (Mr John Walmsley) and the Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan (Councillor Margaret Wilkinson).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Chairman, and His Royal Highness, escorted by the Principal, listened to a performance by the a capella choir in Bradenstoke Hall, viewed displays of students’ project work, and met students, members of staff, governors and supporters in the Great Hall.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Sir Hugh Cortazzi (formerly Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Japan) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir John Whitehead (formerly Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Japan) which was held in the Order of the British Empire Chapel, St Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4, this afternoon.

The Duke of Gloucester was represented by Sir David Warren.

The Duke of Kent was represented by Mr. Nicholas Marden.

The Queen drove to Cotts Equine Centre, Cotts Farm, Robeston Wathen, Narberth, and was received by the Directors (Mr Graham Fouke and Mr John Edwards).

Her Majesty, escorted by Mr Edwards, toured the equine hospital, viewing the “Knock Down and Recovery Suite”, Operating Theatre, Nurses’ Station and horses, and met members of the veterinary team, grooms and other staff members.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited Princes Gate Spring Water, New House Farm, Princes Gate, Narberth, and were received by the Managing Director (Mr David Jones) and Mr Glyn Jones (Director).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by the Managing Director and Director, toured the factory, viewing the bottling and packing processes and bottle-making equipment, and met members of staff, customers and representatives of the company’s charities.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained to Luncheon this afternoon by Pembrokeshire County Council at Picton Castle, Haverfordwest.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness later visited the Royal Dockyard Chapel, Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, and were received by the Chairman of the Pembroke Dock Townscape Heritage Initiative (Councillor Brian Hall), the Co-ordinator of the Pembroke Dock Bi-Centenary Group (Mr Martin Cavaney) and the Mayor of Pembroke Dock (Councillor James Phillips).

The Queen, assisted by local schoolchildren, unveiled a curved timeline wall outside the Chapel.

Her Majesty subsequently opened the Royal Dockyard Chapel as the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre.

The Queen, escorted by the Chairman of Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust (Mr William McNamara), and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted by the Sunderland Trust Project Manager (Mr John Evans), toured the restored Chapel, viewing an exhibition of the maritime, military and social history of Pembroke Dock, and met community volunteers and representatives of Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Puffin Produce Limited, Withybush, Haverfordwest, and was received by Miss Sara Edwards (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed).

By command of The Queen, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency the Hon Michael Rann at Australia House, Strand, London WC2, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Australia in London.
