The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh arrived this morning at St Ives Railway Station and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Edward Bolitho), Mr Michael Galsworthy (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall) and the Mayor of St Ives (Councillor Ronald Tulley).

Her Majesty, Patron, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and His Royal Highness drove to the Lifeboat Station, St Ives, and were received by the Chief Executive of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (Mr Paul Boissier) and Mr Stephen Bassett (Harbourmaster).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted respectively by Mr Paul Whiston (Coxswain) and Mr Derek Hall (Local Operations Manager), toured the Station meeting lifeboat crews and their families.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness subsequently walked along the harbour front.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited Tate St Ives, Porthmeor Beach, St Ives, and were received by the Director of Tate National (Mrs Caroline Collier) and Mr Gareth Thomas (Chairman of Tate St Ives Advisory Council and Tate Trustee).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by Mr Mark Osterfield (Executive Director) and Mr Martin Clark (Artistic Director), toured the Galleries and met members of staff and supporters.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were received this afternoon at Marazion by the Mayor (Councillor Derek Laity), before departing by amphibious craft for St Michael’s Mount.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were entertained to Luncheon at the Castle, St Michael’s Mount, by the Lord and Lady St Levan, and were also received by Mr Mark Harold (National Trust South West Regional Director).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh subsequently toured the Castle, visiting the Chapel and meeting local families who live and work on St Michael’s Mount.

The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Luncheon with the British Columbia Innovation Council and a Reception for British Columbia’s technology, innovation and entrepreneurial communities at the Vancouver Convention Centre, Canada Place, Vancouver.

The Duke of York this afternoon visited the Wavefront Centre of Excellence for Wireless Commercialisation and Research.

His Excellency Mr Ashraf Elkholy was received by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Elkholy was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Matthew Rycroft (Chief Operating Officer, Foreign and Commonwealth Office) was present.

The Lord Carrington KG was received by The Queen when he handed back to Her Majesty the Gold Badge and Chain of Office and Satchel upon relinquishing his appointment as Chancellor of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.

The Duke of Abercorn KG was received by The Queen when Her Majesty handed to him the Gold Badge and Chain of Office and Satchel upon his appointment as Chancellor of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.
