The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon departed for the United Kingdom.

The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia (Ms Quentin Bryce), Mr Stephen Smith MP (Minister for Defence representing the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia), the Governor of Western Australia (Mr Malcolm McCusker) and the Premier of Western Australia (the Hon Colin Barnett MLA) were present at Perth International Airport and bade farewell to Her Majesty and His Royal Highness on the conclusion of the visit.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope (First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff, First and Principal Naval Aide-de-Camp to The Queen) at the Memorial Mass for Admiral of the Fleet Sir Julian Oswald (formerly Chief of the Naval Staff, First Sea Lord and First and Principal Naval Aide-de-Camp to The Queen) which was held in St John’s Roman Catholic Cathedral, Portsmouth, Hampshire, today.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Admiral Sir Jock Slater.

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this morning presented new Colours to the Royal Military College of Australia, Duntroon.

Having been received upon arrival by the Commandant (Brigadier David Luhrs), Her Majesty was received on Parade with a Royal Salute.

After the presentation The Queen was graciously pleased to address the parade and the Commanding Officer replied.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh subsequently attended a garden party with staff and cadets at Duntroon House.

The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia (Ms. Quentin Bryce) was received by The Queen at Government House, Canberra, this morning.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards embarked in Royal Australian Navy Admiral’s Barge at Government House Wharf and travelled on Lake Burley Griffin.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness disembarked at Commonwealth Park and were received by Ms. Katy Gallagher MLA (Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh visited Floriade, the spring flower festival, in Commonwealth Park and were received by Mr. Andrew Barr MLA (Deputy Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness viewed the Victory Garden and met Australian War Memorial staff and volunteers, and subsequently viewed a floral design exhibition.

The Princess Royal, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.

The Duchess of Cornwall, President, this morning received members of the National Osteoporosis Society at Clarence House on the occasion of World Osteoporosis Day.

Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, this afternoon received Mr. Paul Hughes (Honorary Colonel).
