Buckingham Palace

The King and The Queen Consort this morning arrived at York Minster, Deangate, York, and were received at the Great West Doors by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mrs Johanna Ropner), the Archbishop of York (the Most Reverend and Rt Hon Stephen Cottrell) and the Dean (the Very Reverend Dominic Barrington).

Their Majesties attended the Maundy Service at which The King distributed the Royal Maundy.

The Right Reverend Dr John Inge (Lord High Almoner) and the Reverend Canon Paul Wright (Sub-Almoner) were present.

The King’s Body Guard of the Yeoman of the Guard were on duty.

Their Majesties afterwards joined representatives of the Diocese, the Chapter and the Royal Almonry at a Reception in York Minster Refectory.

The Duke of Kent, Patron, this morning visited the new exhibition gallery “Conflict in Europe” at the National Army Museum, Royal Hospital Road, London SW3, and was received by Lieutenant Colonel David Kemmis Betty (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The King and The Queen Consort this afternoon visited Talbot Yard Food Court, Yorkersgate, Malton, and were received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mrs Johanna Ropner) and the owners of the Fitzwilliam (Malton) Estate (Sir Philip Naylor-Leyland, Bt. and Mr Thomas Naylor-Leyland).

Their Majesties, escorted by Mr Naylor-Leyland, toured the Food Court and met local business founders and owners.

The King later met representatives of local charitable organisations at York House, 45 Yorkersgate, Malton, and was received by the Co-Founder and Director of Circular Malton and Norton Community Interest Company (Mrs Susan Jefferson).

By command of The King, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) telephoned Her Excellency Mrs Elisa Nkerabirori this morning in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Burundi to the Court of St James’s.

The King held a Council at Windsor Castle at 4.30 p.m.

There were present: the Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Dr Thérèse Coffey MP (Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), the Rt Hon Mark Harper MP (Secretary of State for Transport) and the Rt Hon Alister Jack MP (Secretary of State for Scotland).

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton (Principal Private Secretary to Their Majesties) and the Rt Hon Sir Edward Young (Joint Principal Private Secretary to His Majesty) were in attendance.

The King gave a Dinner Party at Windsor Castle this evening.

The King was represented by Commodore Laurence Hopkins RN (Extra Gentlemen Usher to His Majesty) at the Funeral of Captain John Gunning RN (formerly Commanding Officer, HMS Jupiter) in St. Peter’s Church, Petersfield, Hampshire, this afternoon.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this morning opened Headley Court Veterans’ Orthopaedic Centre at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Gobowen, Oswestry, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire (Mrs Anna Turner).

Her Royal Highness, Honorary President, Linking Environment And Farming, this afternoon attended Meetings at Harper Adams University, Newport, and was received by Mrs Jennifer Wynn (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire).

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regimental Association, this morning dedicated the Norton Worcestershire Regiment Group statue at Crookbarrow Road, Brockhill Village, Norton, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire (Mrs Beatrice Grant).

Her Royal Highness, President, Carers Trust, this afternoon visited Crossroads Care Gloucestershire, Daglingworth Village Hall, Daglingworth, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Mr Edward Gillespie).

The Princess Royal later opened Eastwood Park Limited’s Training Centre, Falfield, Wotton-Under-Edge, and was received by Mr Robert Bernays (Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire).

Her Royal Highness subsequently visited Wickwar Town Hall, High Street, Wickwar, Wotton-Under-Edge, and was received by Mrs Susan Hewson-Lowe (Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire).

The Duke of Kent, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, this morning received Lieutenant Colonel Robert Arter upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer First Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel James Fern upon assuming the appointment.

The King and The Queen Consort, accompanied by The President of the Federal Republic of Germany and Ms. Büdenbender, today carried out the following engagements in Germany.

Their Majesties this afternoon arrived at Hamburg-Dammtor Railway Station and were received by Mr Peter Tschentscher (First Mayor of Hamburg).

The King and The Queen Consort walked to the “Kindertransport — the Final Parting” memorial statue, where Her Majesty laid a rose, and were received by the Chairman of Kindertransport Organisation Germany (Ms Lisa Bechner) and Mr Nicholas Teller (British Honorary Consul, Hamburg).

The King and The Queen Consort afterwards visited St Nikolai Memorial Church, Willy-Brandt-Strasse, Hamburg, and were received by Dr Martin Vetter (Principal Pastor).

Their Majesties listened to “the Coventry Litany of Reconciliation”, read by Bishop Kirsten Fehrs, before The King laid a wreath in front of the altar and The Queen Consort laid a flower.

Their Majesties drove to Hamburg City Hall and signed the City’s Golden Book before The King arrived at Dockland Pier and was received by the Chairman of Hamburg Port Authority (Mr Friederich Stuhrmann) and Mr Axel Mattern (Chairman of Hamburg Port Marketing plc).

His Majesty embarked in MS HAMBURG to travel along the River Elbe, viewing the future site of the Green Energy Hub Hamburg and 100 megawatt electrolyser and hearing about the ongoing transition to a carbon-free port.

The King attended a Reception onboard before disembarking at Dockland Pier.

The Queen Consort, accompanied by Ms Büdenbender, visited Rudolf-Ross-Grundschule, Kurze Strasse, Hamburg.

Their Majesties later visited Schuppen 52, Australiastrasse, Hamburg, and were received by the British Embassy Berlin Economic Counsellor (Ms Natalie Toms) and Mr Rafe Courage (His Majesty’s Consul-General for Dusseldorf).

The King and The Queen Consort, attended by the Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton, Mr Christopher Fitzgerald, Mrs Jennifer Jordan-Saifi, Mr Tobyn Andreae, Professor Charles Deakin, Dr Douglas Glass, Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson and Mrs Sophia Densham, subsequently departed Germany for Royal Air Force Brize Norton.

The Princess Royal this morning visited Ammo and Company, Gravelly Industrial Park, Hanover Drive, Birmingham, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Midlands (Sir John Crabtree).

Her Royal Highness, Vice Patron, the British Horse Society, this afternoon visited Summerfield Stables, Brookwood Avenue, Hall Green, Birmingham, and was received by Mr Thomas Westley (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

The King and The Queen Consort, accompanied by His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany (Her Excellency Mrs Jill Gallard) and Ms Franziska Giffey (Governing Mayor of Berlin), this morning signed the City’s Golden Book before His Majesty called upon Mr Olaf Scholz (Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany) at the Federal Chancellery, Berlin.

The King and The Queen Consort afterwards visited Wittenbergplatz Market and were received by the Managing Director of Berlin-Brandenburg Farmers’ Market (Ms Silvia Hintsche).

Their Majesties subsequently attended a Plenary Session at the Bundestag and were received by the President of the Bundestag (Ms Bärbel Bas).

Ms Bas welcomed The King and The Queen Consort and His Majesty addressed the Session.

The King this afternoon visited the Ukraine Arrivals Centre, Tegel Refugee Centre, Berlin, and was received by The President of the Federal Republic of Germany.

His Majesty afterwards visited Wasserstrassen und Schifffahrtsamt, Finowfurt, and was received by the Minister President of Brandenburg (Dr Dietmar Woidke).

The King, accompanied by the Federal President of Germany, viewed a static display of a British amphibious bridge and a mechanised infantry vehicle before viewing the completion of the amphibious bridge.

His Majesty walked on to the bridge and spoke to a group of British and German soldiers.

The King later visited Brodowin Organic Farm, Ökodorf Brodowin, Weissensee, Chorin, and was received by Mr and Ms Ludolf von Maltzan (Owners).

His Majesty toured the dairy and viewed the ripening rooms before meeting members of the farm staff and young farmers.

The Queen Consort, accompanied by Ms Büdenbender (wife of The President of the Federal Republic of Germany), this afternoon visited Refugio Café, Berlin.

Her Majesty and Ms Büdenbender afterwards visited Komische Oper, Berlin.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Injured Jockeys Fund, this morning opened their South West Hub at Taunton Rugby Club, Veritas Park, Hyde Lane, Taunton, and, having been received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Mr Mohammed Saddiq), this afternoon attended a Reception at Taunton Racecourse.

Her Royal Highness later opened Weston College’s Health and Active Living Skills Centre, Loxton Road, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.

Kensington Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester this morning attended the Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch Reception at Guildhall, Gresham Street, London EC2.

The Duke of Kent, Patron, the Society for Army Historical Research, this morning received Major General Ashley Truluck (Chairman) and Members of the Society’s Council and was presented with the Fellowship of the Society.
