Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received General Sir David Richards upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief of the Defence Staff.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening held a Reception at Clarence House for supporters of the Elephant Family charity.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Jermyns Lane, Ampfield, near Romsey, to mark their Sixtieth Anniversary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

Her Royal Highness, President, the United Kingdom Vineyards Association, this afternoon opened the new winery at Hambledon Vineyard and was received by Mr Nigel Atkinson (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire).

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this morning attended the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy Graduation Ceremony at Freemasons’ Hall, 60 Great Queen Street, London WC2.

His Royal Highness this evening gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace for Backing Youth.

The Earl of Wessex, President, Sport and Recreation Alliance, this morning held the Annual General Meeting at St James’s Palace.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal this morning opened the Lochside Arena, Lochs Road, Isle of Lewis, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Western Isles (Mr Alexander Matheson).

Her Royal Highness, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this afternoon visited the Argyll Carriage Driving Group, Baravullin Beag, Benderloch, Argyllshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute (Mr Patrick Stewart).

The Princess Royal later unveiled Robert Burns’ Rock, a sculpture commissioned by the People’s Project for The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, at St Michael’s Church, Dumfries, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dumfries (Mrs Jean Tulloch).

 

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, Patron, the Royal Institution of Australia, this morning received Mr Peter Yates (Chairman).
