COURT CIRCULAR 

Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Roberto Calzadilla Sarmiento was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Plurinational State of Bolivia to the Court of St James’s.

His Excellency Mr Rudolf von Ballmoos was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Liberia to the Court of St James’s.

The Baroness Manningham-Buller was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested her with the Insignia of a Lady Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.

The Lord King of Lothbury was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duke of Kent, and Princess Alexandra were present.

The Duke of York this morning departed from Farnborough Airport for Germany and was later received at Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport, Braunschweig, by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany (His Excellency Mr Simon McDonald).

His Royal Highness visited Volkswagen Worldwide Headquarters, Wolfsburg, and remained to Lunch.

The Duke of York this afternoon visited Göttingen University.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the city of Göttingen Rathaus.

The Duke of York subsequently visited Göttingen State and University Library.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner at Hanover Rathaus.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning attended a Business Breakfast Meeting at the Savoy Hotel, Strand, London WC2.

The Princess Royal, Patron, United Kingdom Antarctic Heritage Trust, this morning received Mr Donald Lamont (Chairman), Mr Paul East (Chairman, New Zealand Ant- arctic Heritage Trust) and Mr Nigel Watson (Executive Chairman, New Zealand Antarctic Heritage Trust).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened Sumburgh Head Lighthouse Buildings and Visitor Centre, Sumburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Shetland (Mr Robert Hunter).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited QinetiQ, Boscombe Down, Salisbury, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire (Mrs. Peter Troughton).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Chemring Countermeasures Limited, High Post, Salisbury.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards opened the new Distribution Centre at Nicholas and Harris Limited, Brunel Road, Salisbury.

His Royal Highness later opened Whiteparish Memorial Centre, Common Road, Whiteparish, Salisbury.
