The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Bayeux Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, Normandy, France, and were received by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and Mr. Manuel Valls (Prime Minister of the French Republic).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were subsequently received by Vice Admiral Peter Wilkinson (National President, the Royal British Legion), Brigadier David Baines (President, Normandy Veterans Association) and Air Chief Marshal Sir Joseph French (Vice President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh witnessed a flypast by a Dakota, a Lancaster and two Spitfire aircraft from the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Her Majesty, Patron, and His Royal Highness, Life Member of the Royal British Legion, then attended the Royal British Legion and Normandy Veterans Association Service of Remembrance and afterwards met veterans of the Normandy Landings who were presented by the Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom, France and Australia and the Governor-General of New Zealand.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained to Luncheon at Château de Bénouville, Ouistreham, this afternoon by The President of the French Republic.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness later attended a re-enactment of the events of D Day on Sword Beach, Ouistreham, and were received by The President with veterans from all participating nations.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained by The President of the French Republic this evening at a State Banquet at the Élysée Palace.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning attended the Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance in Bayeux Cathedral, Normandy, and were received by the Prime Minister of the French Republic.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Reception at the Sous-Préfecture, Bayeux.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall subsequently attended the Royal British Legion and Normandy Veterans Association Service of Remembrance at Bayeux Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery.

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon attended a Lunch for British veterans at the Veterans’ Village, Bayeux Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery.

The Prince of Wales, Admiral, and The Duchess of Cornwall later visited HMS RICHMOND alongside Ouistreham.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards attended the International Commemoration Service at Colleville-Montgomery-Plage to commemorate the Allied Normandy Landings and were received by The President of the French Republic.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall later attended a Ceremony of Remembrance at Juno Beach Centre, Courseulles-sur-Mer, to commemorate Canada’s role in the Normandy Landings, and were received by Mr. Manuel Valls (Prime Minister of the French Republic) and the Rt. Hon. Stephen Harper MP (Prime Minister of Canada).

Their Royal Highnesses this evening arrived at Dyce Airport, Aberdeen, from France.

Mr. Simon Martin, Mrs. Amanda MacManus, Miss Kristina Kyriacou, Miss Eva Omaghomi and Major David Bevan were in attendance.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Chancellor, the University of Aberdeen, was represented by the Very Reverend Professor Iain Torrance (Pro-Chancellor) at the Service of Thanksgiving for and Funeral of Dr. Maitland Mackie (Rector) which was held at Westertown, Rothienorman, this afternoon.

Kensington Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this afternoon departed from Royal Air Force Northolt for France.

Their Royal Highnesses later attended a Reception at le Quai du Canada, Arromanches-les-Bains, Normandy.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this evening attended a Parade and Service of Remembrance for D-Day Veterans at le Quai du Canada.

Their Royal Highnesses subsequently arrived at Royal Air Force Northolt from France.

Mr. Miguel Head, Miss Rebecca Deacon, Dr. Edward Perkins and Captain Florian Graham-Watson were in attendance.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Chairman of the Trustees, this evening attended a Reception and Dinner for Lakefield College School Foundation in Ontario, Canada.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, this morning held Meetings for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Countess of Wessex, President, the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, today attended the Royal Cornwall Show in Wadebridge, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Edward Bolitho).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, Sense International, this morning attended the Sense International Regional Directors’ Workshop at Fladgate LLP, 16 Great Queen Street, London WC2.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Firefighters Memorial Trust, this afternoon opened Braidwood House, London Road, Moreton-in-Marsh, as part of the Fortieth Anniversary celebrations of the Fire Service College and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, this morning took the salute at the Freedom Parade of the 2nd Battalion in Market Square, Warwick, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire (Mr. Timothy Cox).

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra this evening attended the St. George’s House Annual Lecture in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
