Buckingham Palace

Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub was received by The Queen today when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Member of the Order of Merit.

The Lord Fellowes (Secretary and Registrar of the Order of Merit) was in attendance.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Ian Collard (the Republic of Panama) and Mr William Longhurst (the Kingdom of Cambodia).

Mrs Collard and Mrs Longhurst were also received by Her Majesty.

The following were received upon their appointment as British High Commissioner: Mr Robert Luke (the Republic of Malta) and Mr Roderick Drummond (the Republic of Fiji).

Mrs Luke and Mrs Drummond were also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess of Cambridge, The Duke of York, Princess Eugenie of York, The Princess Royal, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent were present.

Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.

The Bands of The Rifles and The King’s Division played selections of music during the afternoon.

Today is the Ninety Third Anniversary of the Birthday of The Duke of Edinburgh.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this evening received His Excellency Mr Matthew Barzun (United States Ambassador) and Mrs Barzun.

His Royal Highness later held a Dinner for The Prince’s Charities’ International Sustainability Unit at Clarence House.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Cambridge this morning attended a Reception in support of Sir Benedict Ainslie’s America’s Cup bid at the National Maritime Museum, Park Row, Greenwich, London SE10.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales this evening attended a charity screening of “Zulu” at the Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square, London WC2, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duke of York this morning held a Meeting for Entrepreneurs.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this morning visited Otter Brewery, Mathayes, Luppitt, Honiton, and were received by Sir John Cave, Bt (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Devon).

Their Royal Highnesses later visited Quickes Traditional Limited, Home Farm, Newton St Cyres, Exeter, and were received by Mr Timothy Key (Deputy Lieutenant of Devon).

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon attended a Lunch with the Council of Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Associations Reservists and Local Employers at Wyvern Barracks, Exeter.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex later visited Powderham Church, Devon Historic Churches Trust, Powderham, Exeter.

Their Royal Highnesses subsequently attended a Reception for Devon Historic Churches Trust at Powderham Castle.

The Countess of Wessex this afternoon visited Whetman Pinks Nursery Limited, Houndspool, Ashcombe, Dawlish, and was received by Lady Clifford (Deputy Lieutenant of Devon).

The Princess Royal, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this morning visited Arundel Farm Riding Centre, Park Place, Arundel, to mark its Thirty Fifth Anniversary and was received by Mr Harry Goring (Deputy Lieutenant of West Sussex).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the College of Occupational Therapists, this afternoon visited the Martin B Cohen Centre for Wellbeing, Gould Way, Deansbrook Road, Edgware, Middlesex, and was received by Mr Martin Russell (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, President, Carers Trust, this evening attended a Reception and Dinner at Drapers’ Hall, Throgmorton Avenue, London EC2.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, this morning received Professor Anthony Mellows upon relinquishing his appointment as Lord Prior.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Patron, London Philharmonic Orchestra, this evening attended the Annual Fundraising Gala Dinner at One Mayfair, 13A North Audley Street, London W1.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, Royal Patron, Holly Lodge Centre, this evening attended Richmond Park Reflections at the Belvedere, Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park, Surrey.
