Buckingham Palace

The Queen, accompanied by The Prince of Wales, and The President of the United States of America and Mrs Trump today attended the National Commemorative Event at Southsea Common, Portsmouth, for the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of the D-Day Landings and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson), the Rt Hon Theresa May MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) and the Chief of the Defence Staff and Aide-de-Camp General (General Sir Nicholas Carter).

The Mayor of Portsmouth (Councillor David Fuller) surrendered to Her Majesty the Keys of the City of Portsmouth, which The Queen returned to him.

Her Majesty, accompanied by His Royal Highness, and The President and Mrs Trump met Heads of State, Heads of Government and Representatives.

The Queen, accompanied by The Prince of Wales, and The President of the United States of America and Mrs Trump viewed the National Commemorative Event telling the story of D-Day through musical performance, testimonial readings and Armed Forces displays.

Her Majesty addressed those present and afterwards witnessed a flypast by modern and period aircraft.

The Queen, accompanied by The Prince of Wales, and The President of the United States of America and Mrs Trump met Veterans of D-Day and were received by the National President of the Royal British Legion (Lieutenant General James Bashall).

The Queen bade farewell to The President of the United States of America and Mrs Trump.

The President and Mrs Trump attended a Reception given by The Prince of Wales for Heads of State, Heads of Government and Representatives.

The President of the United States of America and Mrs Trump subsequently joined The Prince of Wales at a Reception for Veterans of D-Day and their families.

The President afterwards attended a Luncheon with Heads of State, Heads of Government and Representatives.

Mrs Trump attended a Luncheon with Mr Philip May.

The Earl Peel (Lord Chamberlain) was present at Southampton Airport this afternoon upon the Departure of The President of the United States of America and Mrs Trump and bade farewell to The President and Mrs Trump on behalf of The Queen upon the conclusion to the State Visit to Her Majesty.

The Lady Wakeham (Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire) was present at Southampton Airport this morning upon the Arrival of The President of the Hellenic Republic and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The Queen.

The Lady Wakeham was present at Southampton Airport later upon the Arrival of The President of the French Republic and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of Her Majesty.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this afternoon attended a Meeting at Award House, 7-11 St Matthew Street, London SW1.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Treloar Trust, this morning visited Treloar School and College, Powell Drive, Holybourne, and was received by Rear Admiral Iain Henderson (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Treloar Trust, afterwards received Mr Tony Reid upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief Executive and Mrs Jessica Taplin upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, Canadian Forces Communications and Electronics Branch, this morning received Brigadier-General Kevin O’Keefe upon assuming his appointment as Colonel Commandant.

Major Blair Christie (Branch Adjutant) was present.

Her Royal Highness, Master, the Corporation of Trinity House, later attended the Trinitytide Anniversary Annual Court Meeting, Church Service and Luncheon, Trinity House, Tower Hill, London EC3.

The Princess Royal, Patron, British Universities and Colleges Sport Limited, this afternoon held a Centenary Reception at St James’s Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Colonel, The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons), afterwards received Major General Sir Edward Smyth-Osbourne upon relinquishing his appointment as Lieutenant Colonel Commanding Headquarters Household Cavalry and Colonel Crispin Lockhart upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Opportunity International United Kingdom, this evening attended a Reception at HM Tower of London, London EC3.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent today visited FirstLight Trust’s Hub, Market Street, Lancaster, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire (the Lord Shuttleworth KG).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the British Commercial Motor Museum, King Street, Leyland, Lancashire.

The Duke of Kent later visited Roccoco Café, Chapel Brow, Leyland.

His Royal Highness subsequently visited Dig-In North West, Ashton Park Walled Garden, Pedders Lane, Preston, Lancashire.

Princess Alexandra, Honorary Patron, Royal Academy America, this afternoon held a meeting for Trustees and supporters.

Mr Christopher Le Brun (President, Royal Academy of Arts) was present.
