COURT CIRCULAR

Windsor Castle

The Queen held a Council at 4pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Mark Spencer MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Stephen Barclay MP, the Rt Hon Sir Robert Buckland MP, the Rt Hon Gregory Clark MP, the Rt Hon James Cleverly MP, and the Rt Hon Nadhim Zahawi MP.

Mr Shailesh Vara MP was sworn in as a member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The following took the Oath of Office, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office: the Rt Hon Nadhim Zahawi MP (as Chancellor of the Exchequer), the Rt Hon Gregory Clark MP (as Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities), the Rt Hon Stephen Barclay MP (as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care), the Rt Hon James Cleverly MP (as Secretary of State for Education), the Rt Hon Shailesh Vara (as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland) and the Rt Hon Sir Robert Buckland (as Secretary of State for Wales).

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Mark Spencer MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

After the Council the Rt Hon Christopher Malthouse MP had an audience of The Queen, was sworn Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, kissed hands upon his appointment and received from Her Majesty the Seals of Office.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning visited Morecambe Winter Gardens, 209 Marine Road Central, Morecambe, and was received by Mrs Christine Kirk (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Trust, this afternoon visited Morecambe Community Fire Station, Westgate, Morecambe.

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Mercian Regiment, later visited 2nd Battalion at Weeton Barracks, Singleton Road, Weeton-with-Preese, Lancashire.

St James’s Palace

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon attended the Heritage Session at the Guildhall, High Street, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, viewing the Coronation Stone, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa).

His Royal Highness, President, Creative Youth, this evening attended a Fuse International Festival Performance at the Rose Theatre, 24-26 High Street, Kingston upon Thames, and was received by the Reverend Martin Hislop (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, this morning held an English Rural Housing Association Meeting.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2020: International Trade, The Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2021: Innovation, and The Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2022: International Trade to D-Line (Europe) Limited, Alder Road, West Chirton North Industrial Estate, North Shields, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear (Ms Lucy Winskell).

His Royal Highness later presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade to Ryder Architecture, Cooper’s Studios, 14-18 Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards visited the Common Room heritage centre, Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this afternoon attended the Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon, London SW19.
