Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Queen, accompanied by The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, drove to the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, to mark the Parliament’s Twentieth Anniversary and was received at Queensberry House by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Francis Ross, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost), the Rt Hon Kenneth Mackintosh MSP (Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament) and the Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP (First Minister of the Scottish Government).

The Presiding Officer welcomed Her Majesty and His Royal Highness and The Queen was graciously pleased to address the Scottish Parliament.

Members of the Scottish Parliament subsequently addressed the Parliament and the Presiding Officer closed the Session of Parliament.

A Guard of Honour was found by The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodhouse were on duty.

The Duke of Sussex, Patron, Invictus Games Foundation, this afternoon attended the Major League Baseball Match between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox at the London Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E20, and was received by Mr John Barber (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Queen this morning visited Greenfaulds High School, Auchenkilns Road, Cumbernauld, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire (Rear Admiral Michael Gregory) and Councillor Thomas Castles (Depute Provost of North Lanarkshire).

Her Majesty viewed an exhibition on the history of Cumbernauld and met teachers and members of staff, before viewing a performance by North Lanarkshire Schools’ Pipe Band.

The Queen afterwards listened to a Gaelic poetry recital by a pupil from Condorrat Primary School and a Gaelic song by pupils of East Dunbartonshire String Ensemble.

Her Majesty this afternoon arrived at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and was received in the Forecourt by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Francis Ross, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

A Guard of Honour found by F Company, Scots Guards, under the command of Major Thomas Mortensen, was mounted in the Forecourt.

Later The Queen was received in the Forecourt by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh and members of the City of Edinburgh Council, when the Rt Hon the Lord Provost surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the City, which Her Majesty returned to him.

Her Majesty was received afterwards inside the Palace by the Hereditary Keeper (the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon).

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, President, The Prince’s Foundation, this afternoon held a Meeting on education, at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended the launch of Housing Britain at Dumfries House.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay later visited Castlebank Park and Horticulture Training Centre, St Patrick’s Road, Lanark, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lanarkshire (the Lady Haughey).

The Duke of Kent this morning laid a rose at the Elsie Inglis Memorial Plaque, Elsie Inglis House, Belgrade, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia (His Excellency Mr Denis Keefe).

His Royal Highness, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, afterwards laid a wreath at Belgrade War Cemetery, Svetog Nikole Street, Belgrade.

The Duke of Kent, on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government and the British Council, later marked the presentation of a codable computer to the Museum of Science and Technology, 51 Dobracina Street, Belgrade.

The Queen honoured Ascot Races with her presence today.

Her Majesty was represented by the Lord Armstrong of Ilminster (formerly Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life and Work of the Lord Heywood of Whitehall (formerly Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service) which was held in Westminster Abbey today.

The Prince of Wales was represented by the Lord Wilson of Dinton.

The Duke of York was represented by the Baroness Fairhead.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this afternoon held a Meeting at Clarence House with representatives from the Crown Estate.

His Royal Highness, Royal Founding Patron, afterwards held a Meeting for the Royal Drawing School.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the British Film Institute, this afternoon visited the James Bond set at Pinewood Studios, Iver Heath, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire (Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, Bt).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Foundation, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Kent this afternoon departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for Serbia and was received this afternoon upon arrival at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia (His Excellency Mr Denis Keefe).
