The Queen arrived at Edinburgh Airport this afternoon.

The Queen drove to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and was received in the Forecourt by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Francis Ross, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost) and members of the City of Edinburgh Council, when the Rt Hon the Lord Provost surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the City, which Her Majesty returned to him.

A Guard of Honour found by Balaklava Company, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, under the command of Major Jonathan Thompson, was mounted in the Forecourt.

Afterwards Her Majesty was received inside the Palace by the Hereditary Keeper (the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon).

The Duke of Cambridge, accompanied by The Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, this morning toured the Archaeological Site of Jerash, Jerash Governorate, and met local Jordanian and refugee children from the Makani Centre.

His Royal Highness, accompanied by The Crown Prince, subsequently visited 81st Battalion Jordan Armed Forces Arab Army (Quick Reaction Force), Bani Obeid District, Irbid Governorate.

The Duke of Cambridge later visited the Princess Taghrid Institute’s Dar Na’mah Centre, Kufranjah, Ajloun Governorate.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the audio, film and animation production studios at Luminus Technical University College, Airport Street, Marj Al Hamam Bridge, Amman, and opened the new hospitality wing.
