Her Majesty received the Bishop of Oxford (the Right Reverend Dr Steven Croft) who did homage upon his appointment.

The Queen received the Bishop of Lichfield (the Right Reverend Dr Michael Ipgrave) who did homage upon his appointment.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited East Anglian Air Ambulance and were received at Cambridge Airport, Newmarket Road, Cambridge, by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Sir Hugh Duberly), the Chairman of East Anglian Air Ambulance (Major General Sir William Cubitt), Mr Andrew Egerton-Smith (Honorary President and Founder) and the Mayor of Cambridge (Councillor Jeremy Benstead).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Chairman, and His Royal Highness, escorted by Mr Patrick Peal (Chief Executive) visited the Crew Room, met crew members and viewed a helicopter and kit.

The Queen officially opened the Egerton-Smith Centre.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP had an audience of The Queen this afternoon and tendered his resignation as Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to accept.

Mrs Cameron was also received by The Queen.

Her Majesty received in audience the Rt Hon Theresa May MP and requested her to form a new Administration.

The Rt Hon. Theresa May MP accepted The Queen’s offer and kissed hands upon her appointment as Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury.

Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Michelin Tyre Factory, Baldovie Road, Dundee, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Dundee (Councillor Robert Duncan, the Lord Provost), the Factory Manager (Mr John Reid) and the Chief Executive Officer of Michelin Tyre Plc (Mr Jean-Dominique Senard).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Factory Manager, and His Royal Highness, escorted by Mr. Wayne Culbertson (Head of Michelin UK), viewed equipment and demonstrations in the Training School, Production Workshop and Tyre Warehouse and met members of staff and apprentices.

The Queen opened the Michelin Dundee Distribution Centre.

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, afterwards opened Slessor Gardens, Dundee Waterfront, and was received by the Chief Executive of Dundee City Council (Mr David Martin) and the Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum of Design (Mr Philip Long).

After viewing display gardens and meeting gardeners and construction workers, Her Majesty and His Royal Highness viewed a song performance by local schoolchildren and a martial arts performance.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained to Luncheon this afternoon by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant at City Chambers, 19 City Square, Dundee.

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, later opened the Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science at Dundee University and was received by the Chancellor (the Lord Patel KT) and the Principal and Vice-Chancellor (Professor Sir Pete Downes).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, having been received at the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification by the Director (Professor Dame Sue Black) and Professor Niamh NicDaeid (Professor of Forensic Science), toured the Forensic Laboratory, viewing demonstrations of forensic science identification techniques and meeting students and staff, researchers and Criminal Justice representatives.

The Queen was represented by Vice Admiral Sir Ian Corder (Lieutenant-Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Bailiwick of Guernsey) at the Funeral of Mr Michael Beaumont (formerly Seigneur of Sark) which was held in St Peter’s Church, Sark, this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Pontypridd Lido, Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Mid Glamorgan (Mrs Kathrin Thomas).

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Trust afterwards visited Prince’s Trust Team Partnership, Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, High Street, Dowlais.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening held a Concert and Reception.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Roald Dahl 100, this afternoon attended a creative-writing workshop organised by Literature Wales, Norwegian Church Arts Centre, Harbour Drive, Cardiff, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Mrs Morfudd Meredith).

The Queen held an Investiture at the Palace of Holyroodhouse this morning.

Afterwards Mr Kenneth Mackintosh MSP (Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament) was received by Her Majesty.

The Lord Hope of Craighead KT (Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland) was received by The Queen and reported on the recent proceedings of the General Assembly.

Mr James Bewsher, winner of the annual shooting event of The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers, was presented to Her Majesty this afternoon and received The Queen’s Prize.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Earl of Wessex and The Princess Royal were present.

The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodhouse were on duty.

The Royal Marine Band Scotland, the Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Pipers’ Society played selections of music during the afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, this morning attended a Reception to mark the Centenary of the Incorporation, 15 Rutland Square, Edinburgh.
