Her Royal Highness this afternoon laid a wreath at the National Military Cemetery, Beechwood Avenue.

The Princess Royal later visited the Canadian Police College, 1 Sandridge Road, and was appointed Honorary Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Her Royal Highness subsequently unveiled a plaque to commemorate Canadians awarded the Victoria Cross in the First World War at the British High Commission, 80 Elgin Street.

The Princess Royal later presented Duke of Edinburgh Awards at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier Hotel, 1 Rideau Street.
