The President of the Republic of Korea, with the Korean Suite in attendance, left Buckingham Palace this morning upon the conclusion of the State Visit to The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

His Excellency Mr. Joslyn Whiteman was received by The Queen today upon his appointment as High Commissioner for Grenada in London.

Mrs. Whiteman was also received by Her Majesty.

Mrs. Mark Anderson was received by The Queen upon relinquishing her appointment as Communications and Press Secretary to Her Majesty.

Mr. Michael Sykes was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Member of the Royal Victorian Order.

The President this afternoon visited No 10 Downing Street and had talks with the Prime Minister.

The President of the Republic of Korea today commenced a State Visit in London to The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke of York welcomed The President on behalf of The Queen at London Hilton on Park Lane Hotel, 22 Park Lane, London W1.

The President of the Republic of Korea, accompanied by The Duke of York, drove to Horse Guards and was met by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

The President of the Republic of Korea, accompanied by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, with The Duke of York, drove in a Carriage Procession to Buckingham Palace with a Sovereign’s Escort of the Household Cavalry.

Gun Salutes were fired in Green Park by The King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, and at the Tower of London by the Honourable Artillery Company.

Guards of Honour were provided at Horse Guards by the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards and at Buckingham Palace by 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards.

Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard and a Detachment of Household Cavalry were on duty.

The President of the Republic of Korea this afternoon unveiled the design of the Korean War Memorial and performed the Groundbreaking Ceremony at Victoria Embankment, London WC2.

The Duke of Cambridge, representing The Queen, and The Duke of Gloucester were present.

The President afterwards drove to Westminster Abbey where Her Excellency laid a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.

The President of the Republic of Korea later visited the Palace of Westminster and was received by the Lord Speaker (the Baroness D’Souza) and the Rt. Hon. John Bercow MP (Speaker of the House of Commons).

The Speaker welcomed The President and Her Excellency delivered an Address.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Bickerstaff’s – Newhaven Fish Market, West Quay, Newhaven, and were received by Mrs. Sara Stonor (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex), the Owner (Mr. Ian Bickerstaff) and the Mayor of Newhaven (Councillor Julie Carr).

Her Majesty, escorted by Miss Kerry Bickerstaff (Manager), and His Royal Highness, escorted by Mr. Bickerstaff, toured the Fisheries and Fishmonger’s Shop and met fishing boat skippers, supporters, suppliers and members of staff.

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, afterwards opened the Youth Hostel Association South Downs Way, Beddingham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr. Peter Field) and the Chairman of the Youth Hostel Association (Mr. C. Darmon).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Chairman, and His Royal Highness, escorted by Mrs. Caroline White (Chief Executive), toured the hostel, meeting volunteers and members of staff, young people undertaking The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, local schoolchildren, young entrepreneurs and representatives from South Downs National Park.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited Harvey’s Brewery, Cliffe High Street, Lewes, and were received by the Joint Managing Director (Mr. Hamish Elder) and Mr. Miles Jenner (Joint Managing Director and Head Brewer).

Her Majesty, escorted by Mr. Jenner, and His Royal Highness, escorted by Mr. Elder, toured the Brewery, visiting the Mash Tun Room, where The Queen initiated the brewing process, and viewing the fermenting room and the bottling stores.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained to Luncheon this afternoon by Harvey’s Brewery.

Her Majesty, accompanied by His Royal Highness, later opened the Keep Records Centre, Falmer, and was received by the Chairman of East Sussex County Council (Councillor Colin Belsey), Mrs. Elizabeth Hughes (County Archivist, East Sussex County Council) and the Mayor of Brighton and Hove (Councillor Denise Cobb).

The Queen, escorted by the County Archivist, and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted by Mr. Christopher Whittick (Senior Archivist), toured the Centre, meeting members of staff and volunteers.

The Prince of Wales this morning received the Rt. Hon. Helen Clark (Administrator of the United National Development Programme).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts, this afternoon received Mr. Richard Wills upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, received Ms. Victoria Harris upon relinquishing her appointment as Director of The Prince’s Rural Action Programme.

The Duke of York this morning visited the Department of Material Sciences and Metallurgy, 27 Charles Babbage Road, Cambridge, and was received by Mrs. John Lewin Smith (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, Trumpington Street, Cambridge, to mark the Tenth Anniversary of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning.

The Duke of York later visited the Cambridge Science Centre, 18 Jesus Lane, Cambridge.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Raspberry Pi, Mount Pleasant House, Mount Pleasant, Cambridge.
