The Queen, accompanied by The Princess Royal, arrived at Oxenholme Railway Station, Kendal, this morning and was received by Her Majesty’s LordLieutenant of Cumbria (Mrs Peter Hensman).

Her Majesty, with Her Royal Highness, drove to Kendal Town Centre and was received by the Mayor of Kendal (Mrs Sylvia Emmott).

The Queen, Duke of Lancaster, Colonel-in-Chief, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment (King’s, Lancashire and Borders), and Patron, the Royal British Legion, accompanied by The Princess Royal, met members of The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, members of the Royal British Legion and cadets, before viewing a Made in Cumbria stall.

Her Majesty, with Her Royal Highness, afterwards visited James Cropper Speciality Papers Limited, Burneside Mills, Kendal, and was received by the Chairman (Mr Mark Cropper).

The Queen and The Princess Royal met Directors of the Company, before touring the manufacturing facility, viewing an exhibition of the papermaking process and meeting employees.

Her Majesty, accompanied by Her Royal Highness, this afternoon drove to Glebe Road, Bowness-on-Windermere, and, having been received by the Chairman, Windermere Lake Cruises (Mr William Bewley) and the Mayor of Windermere (Mr Allan Winrow), walked along the pier meeting employees and the boat crew before embarking in MV Teal.

The Queen and The Princess Royal travelled up Lake Windermere and disembarked at Brockhole Pier where Her Majesty and Her Royal Highness met representatives of the Lake District National Park and voluntary Rangers.

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, President, The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning opened Duchy Palace, Lostwithiel, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Edward Bolitho).

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Cornwall Community Foundation, Patron, Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, and President, Shelterbox, this morning attended a Reception at Lostwithiel Drill Hall, the Parade, Lostwithiel.

Today is the Anniversary of the Birthday of Her Royal Highness.

The Prince of Wales later attended the Fishing into the Future workshop held by The Prince’s Charities’ International Sustainability Unit and the Sea Fish Industry Authority, followed by a Reception at the Berry Head Hotel, Brixham.

The Duke of Kent, President, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, this morning officially opened the new Southend-on-Sea Lifeboat Station at Southend Pier and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (the Lord Petre).
