Buckingham Palace 

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh today visited Bristol and were received at Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol (Mrs John Prior) and the Lord Mayor of Bristol (Councillor Peter Main).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to Bailey of Bristol, Bristol Caravans Limited, South Liberty Lane, and were received by the Chairman (Mr Patrick Howard) and the Chairman of the Caravan Club (Mr Grenville Chamberlain).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted respectively by Mr Nicholas Howard (Managing Director, Bailey of Bristol), and the Chairman, toured the factory, viewing assembly processes and a completed caravan and meeting members of staff.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards visited Bristol Old Vic Theatre, King Street, and were received by the Chairman of the Board (Mrs Laura Marshall).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted respectively by Mr Thomas Morris (Artistic Director) and Ms Emma Stenning (Executive Director), viewed a technical rehearsal of Peter Pan and a song performance by Young Company, and met members of the cast and creative team.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness subsequently viewed the property department and a dressing room and met representatives from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Bristol Old Vic Theatre Club.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained to Luncheon this afternoon by Bristol City Council at M Shed, Princes Wharf, Wapping Road, and were received by the Leader of the Council (Mr Simon Cook).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness later visited Hartcliffe and Withywood Ventures, the Gatehouse Centre, Hareclive Road, Hartcliffe, and were received by the Chairman of the Trustees (Ms Teresa Anstey) and Mrs P. Mundy (Chief Executive).

The Queen, escorted by the Chief Executive, viewed an adult learning class in the Literacy and Numeracy Room and met members of staff, whilst The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted by Mr Brian McInally (Company Secretary), viewed craft activities in the Community Projects Room and met members of staff.

The Prince of Wales this evening attended a Two Hundredth Anniversary Dinner at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Camberley, Surrey.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, today attended the Eleventh Forum of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Association at Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay, St Julian’s, Malta.
