Buckingham Palace 

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning attended the Armed Forces Parade and Muster at Windsor Castle to commemorate Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee and were received by the Chief of the Defence Staff (General Sir David Richards), the First Sea Lord (Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope), the Chief of the General Staff (General Sir Peter Wall) and the Chief of the Air Staff (Air Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received in the Quadrangle with a Royal Salute and witnessed a flypast by a “Diamond 9” formation of Typhoon aircraft.

Detachments from the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force marched past The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

The Queen’s Gurkha Orderly Officers, Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard, The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland (Royal Company of Archers), Yeomen Warders from Her Majesty’s Tower of London, the Military Knights of Windsor and the In-Pensioners of the Royal Hospital Chelsea were on duty.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness then drove through Windsor to the Home Park (Private) to attend a Drumhead Service.

The Chief of the Defence Staff addressed the Parade and The Queen was pleased to reply.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness subsequently witnessed a Tri-Service flypast of rotary and fixed wing aircraft before attending a Reception.

Afterwards The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained to Luncheon by the Chief of the Defence Staff.

The Duke of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy and Members of Foreign Royal Families were present.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, Royal Fleet Auxiliary Association, this evening attended the Association’s Dinner at the De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel, West Quay Road, Southampton.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Henry of Wales, The Duke of York, with Princess Beatrice of York and Princess Eugenie of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy were present.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Ewen Brodie of Lethen (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Nairn) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Earl of Leven and Melville (formerly Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Nairn) which was held at Inverallan Parish Church, Grantown on Spey, Nairn, this afternoon.

The Princess Royal was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Grenville Johnston.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh today continued the visit to the North West of England to mark Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee and were received by Her Majesty’s LordLieutenant of Cheshire (Mr David Briggs).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to Chester Zoo and were received by the Director General, North of England Zoological Society (Dr Mark Pilgrim) and the Lord Mayor of Chester (Councillor Eleanor Johnson).

The Queen opened the Zoo’s Diamond Jubilee Quarter and subsequently toured the Zoo by Monorail and visited the Rhino Paddock, escorted by the Director General, whilst The Duke of Edinburgh toured the Zoo by Monorail and visited the Elephant Enclosure, escorted by Mrs Barbara Smith (Managing Director, North of England Zoological Society).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards visited Orford Jubilee Park, Hallfields Road, Warrington, Cheshire, and were received by the Mayor of Warrington (Councillor Michael Biggin).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh toured the Park in the State Range Rover, viewing activities taking place, before meeting community representatives for Sports Kids for Orford Park and Orford Neighbourhood Enterprise, and viewing activities taking place on the sports field.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by the Leader of Warrington Borough Council (Councillor Terence O’Neill) and the Mayor of Warrington, viewed an exhibition of the history of the site and the story of Warrington, before the President of the Students’ Union (Mr Dechlan Jarrett) presented a Loyal Address to The Queen from the University of Chester.

Her Majesty subsequently officially opened Orford Jubilee Park and His Royal Highness buried a Time Capsule.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh arrived in St Nicholas Place, Liverpool, this afternoon and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside (Dame Lorna Muirhead).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness undertook a short Driveabout in the State Range Rover before arriving at Merseyside Maritime Museum, Albert Dock, Liverpool.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were received by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool (Councillor Francis Prendergast) and the Mayor of Liverpool (Mr J. Anderson, before embarking in the amphibious Yellow Duckmarine for a short water tour around Salthouse and Albert Dock.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness subsequently met Mayors from the area before being entertained to Luncheon at Merseyside Maritime Museum by the Chairman, National Museums Liverpool (Professor Phillip Redmond).

The Duke of Edinburgh, formerly Chancellor, University of Cambridge, was represented by the Lord Wilson of Dinton (Master of Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Lord St John of Fawsley (former Master of Emmanuel College) which was held in St Margaret’s Church Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

The Prince of Wales was represented by the Lord Luce.

The Duke of Kent was represented by Mr Nicolas Adamson.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by the Lord Crathorne.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, this morning held a Meeting at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness this afternoon gave a Reception at Clarence House for Members of Parliament.

The Princess Royal afterwards attended a Reception for the British business and shipping community given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic at the Yacht Club of Greece, 18 Karagiorgi Servias Street, Piraeus.
