Colonel Michael Robertson was received by The Queen upon his appointment as Harbinger of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms and received from The Queen his Stick of Office.

The Rt Hon Mark Francois MP (Vice Chamberlain of the Household) was received in audience by The Queen and presented an Address from the House of Commons to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

The Queen this morning arrived at Lichfield City Railway Station and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire (Sir James Hawley) and the Mayor of the City of Lichfield (Councillor Brian Bacon).

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Mercian and Lancastrian Yeomanry, drove to Lichfield Cathedral and was received by the Bishop of Lichfield (the Right Reverend Jonathan Gledhill), the Honorary Colonel of the Regiment (Major General Andrew Farquhar) and Lieutenant Colonel Francis Acton (Commanding Officer).

Her Majesty presented campaign medals to members of the Regiment who have recently returned from Afghanistan and subsequently viewed a presentation of the Regiment’s role in recent operations.

The Queen was present at a Service of Thanksgiving for The Royal Mercian and Lancastrian Yeomanry Homecoming in Lichfield Cathedral.

Her Majesty was entertained to Luncheon this afternoon by the Regiment at Lichfield School.

The Queen later drove to the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, and was received by the Rt Hon Dr. Liam Fox MP (Secretary of State for Defence), the Chairman of the Trustees, National Memorial Arboretum (Colonel John Barkshire) and Vice Admiral Sir John Dunt (Chairman of Trustees, Armed Forces Memorial Trust).

The Queen was present at a Service of Commemoration for members of the UK Armed Forces killed on duty or as a result of terrorism in 2010, and laid a wreath at the wall of the Memorial.

Her Majesty afterwards attended a Reception for the families of those whose names were dedicated at the Service.

The Duke of Edinburgh, President, Guards Polo Club, this morning received Colonel Paul Belcher upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and Mr Jock Green-Armytage upon assuming the appointment.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Bletchley Park, Milton Keynes, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire (Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, Bt), the Chairman of Trustees (Sir Francis Richards) and Mr. Simon Greenish (Director, Bletchley Park Trust).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Chairman of Trustees, and His Royal Highness, escorted by the Director, toured the site, viewing the Turing Bombe and Lorenz machines, the Colossus machine rebuild project and a demonstration of the Enigma machine, and met veterans and members of staff.

The Queen addressed those present and subsequently unveiled a Public Memorial to those who worked at Bletchley Park and its outstations during World War Two.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy were present.

Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.

The Band of Irish Guards and The Lowland and Highland Bands of The Royal Regiment of Scotland played selections of music during the afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, this morning officially opened the Sammy Ofer Wing and attended a Lunch at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London SE10.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall and The Duchess of Cornwall today visited Cornwall and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant (the Lady Mary Holborow).

Their Royal Highnesses this morning visited the Eden Project, Bodelva, near St. Blazey, in celebration of its Tenth Anniversary.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, this afternoon led a Seeing is Believing visit to Dairy Crest Creamery, Davidstow, near Camelford, and launched the Davidstow Diamond Jubilee cheese.

Their Royal Highnesses later opened the new Duchy of Cornwall Nursery in Lostwithiel.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited Passmore Edwards Court, Barras Place, Liskeard, and was received by Mr. Michael Galsworthy (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall).

Her Royal Highness later attended a Reception at Lostwithiel Community Centre, Liddicoat Road, Lostwithiel, to mark the Sixty Fifth Anniversary of Cornwall Rural Community Council.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this afternoon visited Oban to mark the Bicentenary of the town receiving the Charter of Burgh of Barony, at Corran Halls, Corran Esplanade, Oban, Argyllshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute (Mr. Patrick Stewart).

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Oban War and Peace Museum, Oban Times Building, Corran Esplanade, Oban.

The Princess Royal, Visitor, Strathcarron Hospice, later visited the Hospice, Randolph Hill, Denny, Stirlingshire, to mark its Thirtieth Anniversary, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Stirling and Falkirk (Mrs. Marjory McLachlan).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened Outram Street Centre, Sutton-in-Ashfield, for Framework Housing Association, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire (Sir Andrew Buchanan, Bt.).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Queen Elizabeth’s (1561) Endowed School, 150 Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, to commemorate the School’s Four Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards opened Sherwood Street Emergency Accommodation in Mansfield for Framework Housing Association.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, St. John’s School, Leatherhead, today received Mr. Nicholas Haddock upon relinquishing his appointment as Headmaster and Mr. Martin Collier upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, University of Surrey, this afternoon attended the First Degree Ceremonies in Guildford Cathedral.

Princess Alexandra, Patron, Council of British International Schools, this afternoon received Dr. Roger Fry upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and Mr. Trevor Rowell upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception at the House of Commons, London SW1, given by the Family Holiday Association.
