COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Mohammad Jaafar Bakr Haidar Al-Sadr was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Iraq to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Nahida Melhem was also received by Her Majesty.

Her Excellency Ms Catherine Colonna was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the French Republic to the Court of St James’s.

Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

Sir Iakoba Italeli was received by The Queen this afternoon upon relinquishing his appointment as Governor-General of Tuvalu.

Lady Italeli also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen held an Evening Reception at Buckingham Palace for the Diplomatic Corps at which The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were present.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Admiral Sir George Zambellas (formerly First Sea Lord, Chief of the Naval Staff, First and Principal Naval Aide-de-Camp, Commander-in-Chief Fleet and Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Vice Admiral Sir Donald Gosling (formerly Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom) which was held in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

The Duke of York was represented by Major William McLean.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by Vice Admiral Sir David Steel.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were present at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Vice Admiral Sir Donald Gosling (formerly Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom) which was held in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received the Very Reverend Dr John Hall (formerly Dean of Westminster).

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Army Air Corps, received Lieutenant Colonel Robin Melling upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer 2nd Regiment and Lieutenant Colonel Huw Law upon assuming the appointment, and Colonel Edward Butterworth upon assuming his appointment as Commanding Officer Aviation Reconnaissance Force.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Soil Association, received Mrs Helen Browning (Chief Executive).

His Royal Highness subsequently attended the presentation of the interfaith Bridge Award in London.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Royal Colonel 4th Battalion The Rifles, this afternoon received General Patrick Sanders (Colonel Commandant, The Rifles Regiment).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge was present at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Vice Admiral Sir Donald Gosling (formerly Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom) which was held in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting.

St James’s Palace

The Earl and Countess of Wessex were present at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Vice Admiral Sir Donald Gosling (formerly Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom) which was held in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and Her Royal Highness, Chairman, Women in Business Committee, this evening held a Dinner.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, English Rural Housing Association, this morning opened Goldfield Housing Development, Church Road, Warehorne, Ashford, and was received by Mr Richard Oldfield (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Kent).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the new helipad at Maidstone Hospital, Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, Kent, and was received by Mr William Cockcroft (Deputy Lieutenant of Kent).

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Royal College of Midwives, and Patron, the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, later visited Medway Maritime Hospital, Windmill Road, Gillingham, Kent.

Her Royal Highness, Fourth Warden, the Fishmongers’ Company, this evening attended a Reception at Fishmongers’ Hall, London EC4.

The Princess Royal was represented by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Vice Admiral Sir Donald Gosling (formerly Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom) which was held in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.
