COURT CIRCULAR

Windsor Castle

The Queen arrived at Cardiff Central Railway Station this morning and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Mrs Morfudd Meredith), the Secretary of State for Wales (the Rt Hon Simon Hart, MP), and the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of Cardiff (Councillor Roderick McKerlich).

Her Majesty was received with a Gun Salute fired at Cardiff Pierhead by 104 Regiment, Royal Artillery.

The Queen drove to Senedd Cymru — Welsh Parliament to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Senedd and was received by Sir Brooke Boothby, Bt (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan), the Presiding Officer for the Senedd (Ms Elin Jones, MS) and the First Minister of Wales (the Rt Hon Mark Drakeford, MS).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall received The Queen inside the Senedd.

A Guard of Honour was found beside the Senedd by the Royal Navy with the Band of the Royal Marines.

Her Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses entered the Siambr/Chamber where the Presiding Officer welcomed The Queen and Her Majesty addressed the Members of Senedd Cymru — Welsh Parliament and signed a Commemorative Parchment, and the First Minister replied.

Afterwards The Queen, escorted by the Presiding Officer, and The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, escorted by the First Minister and Mr David Rees, MS (Deputy Presiding Officer), met members of the first Youth Parliament and Members of the Senedd.

St James’s Palace

The Earl of Wessex this morning met local business men and women and market stall holders at Northgate Street, Chester, regarding post-Covid-19 recovery and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire (Lady Redmond).

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Reception at the Town Hall, Chester.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal this morning visited Chalmers Hospital and Macduff Medical Practice, Fife Street, Banff, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Banffshire (Mr Andrew Simpson).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Citizens Advice Scotland, afterwards opened the North West Aberdeenshire Citizens Advice Bureau Macduff Branch, Church Cottage, Church Street, Macduff, Banffshire.

The Princess Royal this afternoon visited Aberchirder and District Men’s Sheds, Market Street, Aberchirder, Huntly, Banffshire.

Her Royal Highness later opened a new extension at Ringlink (Scotland) Limited, Cargill Centre, Aberdeen Road, Laurencekirk, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kincardineshire (Mr Alastair Macphie).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Oriental Ceramic Society, this afternoon visited the “Collectors, Curators, Connoisseurs: A Century of the Oriental Ceramic Society” exhibition at the Brunei Gallery, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, Thornhaugh Street, London WC1.

His Royal Highness, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, afterwards attended the official launch of the Tissue Donor Awards at the Priory Church of St John, St John’s Square, London EC1.
