The following were received in audience by The Queen today upon their appointment as Lieutenant Governors: General Sir John McColl (Jersey), Air Marshal Peter Walker (Guernsey) and Mr Adam Wood (Isle of Man).

Lady McColl, Mrs Walker and Mrs Wood were also received by Her Majesty.

Mr David Dawson was received by The Queen and delivered up the Insignia of the Order of Merit worn by the late Mr Lucien Freud.

The Queen this afternoon opened Dedworth Medical Centre, Windsor, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (the Hon Mrs Bayliss) and Dr Jonathan Holliday (Partner and Apothecary to the Royal Household at Windsor).

Her Majesty toured the Centre and met members of staff, doctors, nurses and patients.

The Queen afterwards opened the Windsor and Royal Borough Museum, the Guildhall, Windsor, and was received by Mr Mark Taylor (Head of Libraries, Arts and Heritage, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead) and the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (Councillor Asghar Majeed).

Her Majesty toured the Museum, viewed the displays and met members of staff.

The Duke of Edinburgh, President Emeritus, World Wide Fund for Nature — International, this afternoon presented The Duke of Edinburgh Conservation Medal and subsequently held a Lunch at Buckingham Palace.
