The Queen, escorted by the Chairman, and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted by Dr. David Fleming (Director, National Museums Liverpool), toured and Her Majesty subsequently opened the Museum.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited the Royal Liver Building and were received by Mr. William Connolly (former Chief Executive, Royal Liver Group) and Mr. Kevin Dobson (former Director).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness received a short briefing on the history of the Royal Liver Building and met staff and tenants.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh today visited the Floral Pavilion, Marine Promenade, New Brighton, Wirral, and were received by the Leader of Wirral Borough Council (Councillor Stephen Foulkes), Mr. Paul Holliday (Manager, Floral Pavilion Theatre) and the Mayor of Wirral (Councillor Moira McLaughlin).
