Her Majesty was present at The Queen’s Birthday Parade on Horse Guards Parade this morning at which The Queen’s Colour of the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards was trooped.
The Queen was accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh (Colonel, Grenadier Guards), The Prince of Wales (Colonel, Welsh Guards), The Duke of Cambridge (Colonel, Irish Guards) and The Princess Royal (Gold Stick in Waiting and Colonel, The Blues and Royals, Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons).
The Duke of Kent (Colonel, Scots Guards) was also present.
Her Majesty was attended by General the Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank (Gold Stick and Colonel, The Life Guards) and Major General Edward Smyth-Osbourne (Major General Commanding Household Division).
The Lord Vestey (Master of the Horse), Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Matheson of Matheson, younger, Colonel Toby Browne (Mounted Equerries in Waiting), Captain Thomas Tollemache (Coldstream Guards, Dismounted Equerry in Waiting) and Lieutenant Colonel Paul Bedford (The Blues and Royals, Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons, Silver Stick in Waiting) were in attendance.
Colonel Hugh Bodington (Chief of Staff), Lieutenant Colonel Harry Scott (Silver Stick Adjutant) and the Household Division Staff were present.
The procession was led by Lieutenant Colonel Simon Soskin, Grenadier Guards (Brigade Major Household Division).
The Troops on Parade, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel the Hon. Charles Broughton, Grenadier Guards (Field Officer in Brigade Waiting), received The Queen with a Royal Salute.
The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Henry of Wales, The Duchess of Cambridge, The Duke of York with Princess Eugenie of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence and other Members of the Royal Family drove to Horse Guards Parade and witnessed The Queen’s Birthday Parade.
On the conclusion of the Parade, Her Majesty drove in a carriage back to Buckingham Palace at the head of The Queen’s Guard, preceded by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, under the command of Major Mark Edward, the Massed Mounted Bands of the Household Cavalry, the Sovereign’s Escort of the Household Cavalry, under the command of Major Simon Lukas, The Blues and Royals, Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons, and the Massed Bands of the Guards Division.
On arrival at Buckingham Palace, The Queen’s Guard entered the Forecourt and formed up opposite the Old Guard, the remaining Guards marching past Her Majesty. The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and the Household Cavalry ranked past The Queen.
Her Majesty, from Buckingham Palace, witnessed a fly-past by aircraft of the Royal Air Force, led by Squadron Leader Andrew King, to mark the official celebration of The Queen’s Birthday.
Royal Salutes were fired today by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery in Green Park and from the Tower of London Saluting Battery by the Honourable Artillery Company, under the command of Major David Daniel.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Sir Eric Dancer (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Admiral Sir Hugo White (formerly Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Gibraltar) which was held at St. Eustachius Church, Tavistock, Devon, this afternoon.
The Queen was represented by Mr. Edmund Bailey (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gwynedd) at the Service to Celebrate the Life of the Marquess of Anglesey (formerly Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gwynedd) which was held in the Cathedral Church of St. Deinol, Bangor, this afternoon.
The Prince of Wales was represented by Sir Brooke Boothby.

The Queen, Visitor, this morning opened Westminster School’s new Sports Centre in Greycoat Street, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer), the Chairman of Governors (the Very Reverend Dr John Hall) and the Head Master (Dr Stephen Spurr).
Her Majesty toured the Centre, viewing sporting activities, and met Governors, pupils and members of staff.
The Queen held a Council at 5.30 pm.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Bayeux Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, Normandy, France, and were received by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and Mr. Manuel Valls (Prime Minister of the French Republic).
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were subsequently received by Vice Admiral Peter Wilkinson (National President, the Royal British Legion), Brigadier David Baines (President, Normandy Veterans Association) and Air Chief Marshal Sir Joseph French (Vice President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission).
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh witnessed a flypast by a Dakota, a Lancaster and two Spitfire aircraft from the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
Her Majesty, Patron, and His Royal Highness, Life Member of the Royal British Legion, then attended the Royal British Legion and Normandy Veterans Association Service of Remembrance and afterwards met veterans of the Normandy Landings who were presented by the Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom, France and Australia and the Governor-General of New Zealand.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained to Luncheon at Château de Bénouville, Ouistreham, this afternoon by The President of the French Republic.
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness later attended a re-enactment of the events of D Day on Sword Beach, Ouistreham, and were received by The President with veterans from all participating nations.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained by The President of the French Republic this evening at a State Banquet at the Élysée Palace.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards attended the International Commemoration Service at Colleville-Montgomery-Plage to commemorate the Allied Normandy Landings and were received by The President of the French Republic.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall later attended a Ceremony of Remembrance at Juno Beach Centre, Courseulles-sur-Mer, to commemorate Canada’s role in the Normandy Landings, and were received by Mr. Manuel Valls (Prime Minister of the French Republic) and the Rt. Hon. Stephen Harper MP (Prime Minister of Canada).
Their Royal Highnesses this evening arrived at Dyce Airport, Aberdeen, from France.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Chancellor, the University of Aberdeen, was represented by the Very Reverend Professor Iain Torrance (Pro-Chancellor) at the Service of Thanksgiving for and Funeral of Dr. Maitland Mackie (Rector) which was held at Westertown, Rothienorman, this afternoon.
